The Matchup
• Wake Forest is set to take on another top-25 foe this weekend, traveling to No. 6 Virginia on Sunday for a 2 p.m. game on ACC Network Extra.
Last Time Out
• Wake Forest head coach Tony da Luz picked up the 300th win of his head coaching career as the Demon Deacons handed No. 11 Boston College its first loss of the year in overtime, 2-1, on Thursday night.
• The Eagles jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, but grad transfer Mariah Lee scored her first Wake Forest goal before halftime, and Estelle Laurier put away the golden goal with three minutes left in the overtime period to win it.
• Bayley Feist assisted on both Demon Deacon goals.
Quick Kicks
• The Demon Deacons debuted at No. 15 in the NCAA RPI on Sept. 17. The Deacs also started the season in the No. 15 spot in 2017. Wake Forest remains in the top 25 of the RPI this week.
• Wake Forest faces 13 squads that made it to the NCAA Tournament in 2017, including two College Cup teams in South Carolina and Duke. The Deacs' regular-season schedule includes playing nine teams in the current top-25.
• Senior Nonie Frishette has played every minute between the posts this season. Her 51 saves are most in the conference while her .850 save percentage ranks fourth.
Scouting The Cavaliers
• Virginia enters the game with an 8-2-0 overall record and 1-2-0 mark in the ACC, but the Cavaliers have dropped two of their last three games to Clemson and Virginia Tech by 1-0 scores.
• The Hoos have outscored their opponents 24-6 this season. Twelve different Cavaliers have scored. None have more than four goals, but six have scored at least twice, led by reserve Rebecca Jarrett, who has four goals.
• Three different players have seen time in goal. Laurel Ivory has started nine of UVA's 10 games, recording a 0.47 goals-against average and .818 save percentage.
Series History
• Virginia leads the all-time series by a 18-7-3 margin. UVA has won five straight matchups since the Deacs won back-to-back games in 2011 and 2012.
• Last year, the Cavaliers claimed a 2-1 win in the opening round of the ACC Championship.
