Wake Forest senior Brad Dunwell was selected No. 56 overall in the MLS SuperDraft.
CHICAGO -- Wake Forest senior Brad Dunwell was selected with the No. 56 overall pick by Houston Dynamo as the eighth pick of the third round on Monday afternoon.
Dunwell is the second Demon Deacon drafted after Logan Gdula went 13th overall in the first round to FC Cincinnati.
Wake Forest has now had at least two student-athletes chosen in the MLS SuperDraft in each of the past four years.
Dunwell was a four-year starter, starting all 91 games since he arrived on campus in 2015. He finished his career with a goal and 14 assists, leading the Deacs to a 73-11-7 record in his four seasons, more wins than any other Division I program in that time.
A second team All-America selection by United Soccer Coaches, Dunwell served as a team captain and recorded a pair of assists in 2018.
The Grand Rapids, Michigan native earned ACC honors each season, being named to the All-Freshman Team in 2015, third team All-ACC in 2016 and 2017, and second team All-ACC in 2018.
