Four goals were scored in the final 13 minutes of regulation, with the Deacs battling back from three deficits to force a 3-3 draw.
The Demon Deacons (5-5-4, 0-3-3 ACC) received goals from Hulda Arnarsdottir, Hayley Younginer and Ryanne Brown in the tying effort.
The Eagles (8-4-2, 1-4-1 ACC) scored four minutes into the game and took leads three times, but Wake Forest battled back each time.
"We ended a long weekend with a good attacking performance and showed great character to come back to tie the game late," head coach Tony da Luz said. "Our weakness has been defensive set pieces; if we correct that part of our game, we have a good chance against Virginia Tech on Friday. I'm proud of our kids for responding and attacking with creativity and purpose. We are close to a breakthrough."
After Kayla Jennings put the Eagles ahead and Boston College controlled the first 30 minutes of the game, Wake Forest picked up the intensity in the closing minutes of the half without anything to show for it.
Wake Forest earned its first goal in the 57th minute, when Estelle Laurier sent a cross to Arnarsdottir, who poked it past the keeper from five yards out to make the score 1-1.
Francesca Venezia put the Eagles ahead in the 78th minute, but Wake Forest answered back in the 83rd. This time it was Arnarsdottir setting up Younginer, who took one dribble before beating the keeper far post, knotting the game at 2-2.
The Eagles pulled back in front less then two minutes later on a goal scored by Gianna Mitchell.
But Wake Forest tied it for good in the 88th minute. Vicky Krug sent a long ball into the box, and three straight headers from Giovanna DeMarco, Hannah Betfort and Brown put it into the back of the net, with Brown finishing it off for the equalizer.
The Deacs put a pair of shots on target in the overtime periods, but BC keeper Allie Augur made her fifth and sixth saves.
For Wake Forest, Meghan Kennedy started and made one save in the opening half. Mia Raben made her debut beginning in the second half and totaled three saves over the final 65 minutes.
Wake Forest closes out its four-game road swing at Virginia Tech on Friday night on ACCNX.
