
Duke Tops Wake Forest 3-0 on Wednesday Night

DURHAM, N.C. – Wake Forest volleyball (11-9, 1-8 ACC) fell to Duke (8-13, 2-7 ACC) 3-0 on Wednesday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Wake Forest was led offensively by Caroline Kuhn with nine kills and freshman Peyton Suess added eight. Setter Haley Kortekaas dished out 10 assists, while freshman Parker Kwiatkowski added nine. Olivia Saunders made her return to the court, registering three kills, two blocks and two digs.
The Blue Devils took an early 1-0 match lead, taking the first frame 25-14. The Deacs struggled to find its rhythm, hitting -.036 in the opening set, while Duke hit .219. Wake managed just six kills against the Blue Devils' 14.
The second set four ties as both sides rallied point-for-point. Duke went one a 5-1 run to take a 17-13 lead. Wake tacked on a few more points, but the Blue Devils sealed the 25-17 victory with a kill from Samantha Amos.
The Deacs battled back in the third set, taking an 11-7 lead. Duke tied the set at 13-all and eventually took a 20-16 lead. Wake chipped away at the Blue Devils' lead but came up short as Duke sealed the three-set victory 25-22.
Wake Forest returns to action on Sunday as it hosts Virginia Tech at 1 p.m. in the annual Dig Pink match.
