Michael Ludowig and Chris Lanzilli each went 2-for-4 with a double in the 9-3 loss.
The Demon Deacons (2-2) jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to RBI singles from Michael Ludowig in the second inning and Bobby Seymour in the third inning.
The Flames (2-2) took advantage of nine total walks to score the next seven runs of the game to pull ahead, 7-2, capped by a three-run double from Ayden Karraker in the bottom of the seventh to push the lead from two to five runs.
A Chris Lanzilli RBI single in the eighth kept the Deacs in striking distance, but Liberty added two more runs in the bottom of the inning to put the game away.
Ludowig and Lanzilli each went 2-for-4 with a double to lead the Deacon offense. On the mound, Tyler Witt was the only one of six Deacon pitchers not to surrender a run, striking out three over 2.1 scoreless innings.
After starting the season in Liberty's weekend rotation, Mason Meyer started in the midweek role and allowed two earned runs on five hits and a walk over 7.1 innings.
Wake Forest is back in action this weekend. The Deacs travel to Elon on Friday before returning home Saturday and Sunday.
