The Matchup
• The No. 2 Wake Forest men's tennis team returns to action for the first time in a week and a half on Thursday, Feb. 28, as the Demon Deacons play host to Virginia Tech.
• First serve is set for 3:30 p.m. at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex. The match will be played outdoors, wether permitting.
• Thursday marks the ACC opener for the Deacs but have already played two ACC foes (Virginia, North Carolina) in nonconference play.
Chrysochos' Career
• Against UCLA on Feb. 16, senior Petros Chrysochos became the program's all-time leader in singles victories with 120 when he defeated Govind Nanda, 6-1, 6-4. Chrysochos needed seven singles wins entering spring play to break the previous record of 119, which was held by former teammate Skander Mansouri.
• In the fall, Chrysochos won the program's first-ever singles title at the ITA Fall Championships, topping USC's Daniel Cukierman in the finals. Chrysochos is believed to be the first men's player since Arizona State's Sargis Sargsian (1994-95) to win all three major DI titles (NCAA, ITA All-American, ITA Fall Championships) in a career.
All-Tourney Deacs
• A quartet of Deacs were named to the All-Tournament Team at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
• Petros Chrysochos and Bar Botzer were named to the singles All-Tournament Team while the doubles team of Alan Gadjiev and Borna Gojo were named to the doubles team.
• For their efforts, Botzer was named the ACC Player of the Week while Gadjiev and Gojo were the ACC Doubles Team of the Week.
Next Time Out
• The Demon Deacons hit the road for their second-straight ACC match on Sunday, March 3, as the Deacs head to Durham to face Duke. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
• Sunday's match will begin a stretch of three consecutive matches away from home. The Deacs will head to the Sunshine State to face UCF and Florida before returning home to face Louisville on Friday, March 15.
