WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- Wake Forest women's tennis earned a 6-1 victory over No. 40 Boston College (9-4, 1-4 ACC) on Friday afternoon. The Deacs improve to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in ACC play.

The Deacons opened the match with a pair of 6-2 wins in doubles to take the early point. Emma Davis and Chandler Carter finished first, topping Jackie Urbanati and Yufei Long at the No. 1 spot. Just minutes later, MC Meredith and Eliza Omirou clinched against Dasha Possokhova and Elene Tsokilauri.

Carter put the first singles point on the board, cruising past Maria Ross 6-3, 6-2 in the sixth spot. Davis quickly followed on court one, 7-6 (3), 6-1 to give the Deacons a 3-0 lead.

After a Boston College injury, Ulyashchenko picked up a 7-5, 3-0, default win to clinch the match for the Deacs. Omirou continued the momentum for Wake Forest, earning a 6-3, 6-2 decision on court three.

Brylin battled back from down 4-1 in the first set to win 6-4. Boston College evened the match, taking the second set 6-3, but Brylin dominated in the tiebreak 10-0 to take the point, extending Wake Forest's lead to 6-0.

Freshman Saby Nihalani took the first set on court four 6-4, but Boston College rallied back to take the next two sets, putting the lone point on the board for the Eagles.

The Demon Deacons return to action on Sunday (March 3) against 20th-ranked Virginia. First serve is set for noon at the WF Tennis Center.
