Lanzilli Collects Additional National Honors

Wake Forest sophomore Chris Lanzilli was selected as the National Player of the Week by both the NCBWA and Perfect Game.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest sophomore outfielder Chris Lanzilli was picked as the National Player of the Week by both the NCBWA and Perfect Game on Tuesday.
Lanzilli has now claimed every weekly hitter of the week honor after being picked as ACC Player of the Week and one of eight National Players of the Week by Collegiate Baseball on Monday.
Over the week, Lanzilli batted .444 (8-for-18) with three home runs, three doubles, 16 RBIs, two walks and a stolen base.
That week was capped off with a record-breaking performance on Sunday. In a 13-3 win over Boston College, Lanzilli homered twice and set a new program record with 10 RBIs. He hit a grand slam, three-run homer, two-run single and RBI groundout to account for 10 of Wake Forest's 13 runs.
This season, he leads the ACC and ranks second in the country with 31 RBIs. He also leads the league with 10 doubles and ranks tied for third with six longballs.
He shared both the NCBWA and Perfect Game honors with the National Pitcher of the Week, Jake Kuchmaner, an East Carolina sophomore who threw a perfect game against Maryland.
