Botzer Named ACC Co-Player of the Week

Sophomore picks up fourth honor of the year
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wake Forest men's tennis sophomore Bar Botzer has been named the ACC's Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday (March 19).
Botzer, who shared the honors with Virginia's Carl Soderlund, has now been recognized a league-leading four times this year, twice as the Player (or Co-Player) of the Week and twice as the Doubles Team of the Week with Petros Chrysochos.
Botzer, ranked 22nd in the latest ITA rankings, picked up a pair of singles wins this past week. The Tel Aviv, Israel native defeated No. 54 Andres Andrade, 6-1, 6-4, before taking down Virginia's Henrik Wiersholm, 7-6(6), 6-4. Botzer is now 13-1 in dual matches this spring and is currently riding an 11-match singles winning streak.
Botzer also picked up a pair of doubles wins with Chrysochos, including an upset victory over the 14th-ranked tandem of Oliver Crawford and Andrade of Florida and an ACC victory over Louisville's top doubles team.
The Deacs are back in action on Wednesday, March 20, taking on NC State in Raleigh. First serve is set for 5 p.m.
