
Deacs Remain Hot, Down Louisville on the Road

LOUISVILLE, KY. – No. 17 Wake Forest women's tennis completed the weekend ACC sweep with a 6-1 win over the Louisville Cardinals.
Led by No. 28 duo Chandler Carter and Emma Davis, Wake Forest (17-3, 7-1 ACC) got on the board early with the doubles point. The top tandem quickly picked up a 6-1 win, but Louisville (10-9, 2-7 ACC) took the court three decision, putting the doubles point in the hands of Eliza Omirou and MC Meredith. The Wake pair got the job done with a 7-6 (1) victory.
In singles play, Louisville evened the match at 1-1, taking the four spot 6-2, 6-3, but that was the only point the Cards were able to get in the match. Carter earned a 6-2, 6-4 win giving Wake a 2-1 lead. Davis followed on court one, taking down Sena Suswam 6-1, 6-4.
Senior Anna Ulyashchenko clinched the match for the Deacs, topping Nikolina Jovic 7-6 (5), 6-1 in the second spot. Omirou and Peyton Pesavento wrapped the match with back-to-back victories as Wake Forest cruised to the 6-1 ACC road win.
The Deacs are back on the road next weekend to face Florida State on Friday (March 29) at 4 p.m. and Miami on Sunday (March 31) at noon.
