Steel Homers Twice in Loss at No. 16 Coastal

The Chanticleers scored nine runs over the first two innings en route to a 14-8 defeat.
The Chanticleers (12-2) scored six runs in the first and three runs in the second to take a 9-2 lead. The Demon Deacons (8-6) chipped away and cut the lead to four, but Coastal extended its lead again in the late innings.
Steel finished 2-for-4 with two solo blasts, also drawing a walk.
Patrick Frick, Chris Lanzilli and Brendan Tinsman also had two hits apiece.
Reese Robinson was the lone Deacon to throw a scoreless outing, tossing 1.1 shutout innings in relief.
A Bobby Seymour RBI single in the top of the first gave the Deacs a 1-0 lead, but the Chanticleers scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good. Coastal's Kyle Skeels finished 3-for-3 with six RBIs, including a two-run double which sparked the first-inning rally.
The Deacs open ACC play this weekend, playing host to Notre Dame from Friday-Sunday.
