Petros Chrysochos and Borna Gojo garner First Team honors while Bar Botzer selected to Second Team
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Three members of the Wake Forest men's tennis team were recognized by the league office Thursday (April 25) as the ACC announced its postseason honors. Petros Chrysochos and Borna Gojo were named First Team All-ACC while Bar Botzer was a Second Team All-ACC honoree.
For Chrysochos, he becomes just the second player in program history (Todd Paul) to be named All-ACC all four years. After being a Second Team selection as a freshman, Chrysochos has been named First Team All-ACC in each of the last three years.
Chrysochos, the program's all-time leader with 133 career singles victories, is 29-3 on the year and enters the NCAA Championship having won his last eight decisions. He is 20-2 in the spring and posted 10-1 records at both the No. 1 and No. 2 spots.
Gojo, a junior, has now been named First Team All-ACC in each of his first three seasons on campus while Botzer is recognized by the league for the second year in a row after being a Third Team All-ACC selection a year ago.
Gojo is 10-3 this spring after competing in professional tournaments during the fall semester. The junior has won nine-straight matches and has picked up eight wins over ranked opponents. Botzer leads the team with 35 wins this year and her 22 dual wins also pace the Deacs. He is 13-2 at the No. 3 position and have won 11 matches against ranked opponents.
The Demon Deacons now turn their attention to the NCAA Championships as Wake Forest looks to repeat as national champions. The NCAA Championship field will be announced on Monday, April 29, at 6 p.m.
