WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Two members of the Wake Forest men's basketball program underwent successful medical procedures following the conclusion of the season. Chaundee Brown and Torry Johnson each had surgeries performed by Dr. Kevin Coates of Wake Forest Baptist Health.
Brown had a procedure to repair a torn cartilage in his left knee. Although the injury did not cause him to miss any games in 2018-19, it hampered him over the final months of the season.
Johnson had a right shoulder procedure to repair a torn labrum, which he injured on Jan. 19 at Virginia Tech and caused him to miss four games from Jan. 26-Feb. 5. He reinjured the shoulder at Duke on Mar. 5, causing him to miss the regular season finale vs. Florida State on Mar. 9.
The timetable for full recovery for both players is 4-6 months and both are expected to be ready for the start of practice for 2019-20 season.
