GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wake Forest senior Jennifer Kupcho was named ACC Women's Golf Co-Player of the Month for March, the conference announced Wednesday (Apr. 3). Kupcho shares the honor with Frida Kinhult of Florida State.
Kupcho had an impressive performance in three March tournaments for the Demon Deacons. She was the individual runner-up at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate as Wake Forest finished T-2nd against an elite field in Hilton Head Island, S.C. At the Tar Heel Classic in the Dominican Republic, Kupcho shot 14-under, one off her school-record score, to win the event and lead the Deacs to a 19-shot victory. She concluded the month at the Bryan National Collegiate, sharing medalist honors with teammate Emilia Migliaccio at 12-under as Wake Forest set the ACC 54-hole scoring record at 34-under.
Kupcho's two victories in March give her nine career wins, one shy of the Wake Forest record of 10 career wins by Stephanie Neill (1992-95). Eight of her nine rounds over the last month were in the 60s, giving her 34 career rounds in the 60s, tying the NCAA all-time record.
The honor is the third of her career as she is the only Demon Deacon to be ACC Women's Golfer of the Month multiple times.
Kupcho and Migliaccio begin play Wednesday at the inaugural Augusta National Women's Amateur. The Demon Deacons return to action as a team Apr. 18-20 with the ACC Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro.
