DEACS TRAVEL TO OKLAHOMA FOR NCAA REGIONAL
• Wake Forest will compete at the 2019 Norman Regional, hosted by Oklahoma
• Wake Forest is the No. 2 seed in the regional, their highest seed since the NCAA adopted the four regional format in 2015
• The Deacs are looking for a top-six finish that would qualify them for the NCAA Championships,
held later this month in Fayetteville, Ark.
NCAA REGIONAL HISTORY
• Wake Forest has qualified for and has been selected to the NCAA Regionals every year since the NCAA switched to the regional format in 1993
• Out of the Demon Deacons' 26 previous appearances at the NCAA Regionals, Wake has advanced on to the NCAA Championships 15 times, including seven out of the last 13 seasons
• Wake Forest won the East Regional in both 1994 and 1995, overcoming three-shot deficits on the final day in both tournaments
• Last season, the Deacs finished T-6th at the Tallahassee Regional and qualified for the NCAA Championships by winning a playoff against Clemson for the final qualifying spot
KUPCHO LOOKS TO MAKE REGIONAL HISTORY
• Jennifer Kupcho has took medalist honors at NCAA regionals each of the last two seasons, winning the 2017 Athens Regional and the 2018 Tallahassee Regional
• She is one of four players in history to win multiple NCAA regionals (Kari Damron of Purdue - 2000 & 2001; Maria Jose Uribe of UCLA - 2008 & 2009; Stephanie Meadow of Alabama - 2011 & 2013)
• If Kupcho wins the Norman Regional, she will become the first player to ever win three NCAA regionals
IN THE RANKINGS
• Wake Forest ended the regular season ranked a season-high No. 3 in the GolfWeek rankings and No. 7 in the GolfStat rankings
• Three Deacs are ranked in the top 20 of the GolfWeek individual rankings, including Jennifer Kupcho and Emilia Migliaccio in the top five
SHOOTING LOW THIS SEASON
• Wake Forest enters regionals with a stroke average of 287.48, over six strokes better than the school-record 293.76 set last season
• The Deacs have won their last three events (Tar Heel Classic Casa de Campo, Bryan National Collegiate and ACC Championship), matching the longest win streak in program history set in the fall of 1994
• The three lowest 54-hole team scores in program history (34-under at Bryan National Collegiate, 23-under at Tar Heel Classic, 14-under at ACC Championship) have come in the last three events
• The Deacs have finished under par in a school-record five events this season (previous record was three under-par finishes last season)
