Deacs Move Up to Fourth at NCAA Norman Regional

NORMAN, Okla. – The Wake Forest women's golf team moved up the leaderboard at the NCAA Norman Regional on Tuesday during the second round at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club. The Demon Deacons shot 3-under on Tuesday to finish the round at 1-under, moving up from eighth place to fourth place with one round to play.

The top six finishers at the 54-hole event will advance to the NCAA Championships, held May 17-22 in Fayetteville, Ark. Texas is the second-round leader at 8-under, one shot ahead of Florida at 7-under. Purdue is in third place at 2-under, with the Deacs in fourth place at 1-under. Arizona State is in fifth place at 3-over, while Ole Miss and Texas Tech are tied for the sixth and final qualifying place at 5-over.

Jennifer Kupcho shot a 3-under 69 to lead the Deacs on Tuesday, her NCAA record-setting 35th career round in the 60s. She is T-5th on the individual leaderboard at 4-under par for the tournament.

Siyun Liu shot a 1-under 71 on Tuesday to finish the day at even par. Emilia Migliaccio is at 1-under for the tournament after an even par second round of 72. Vanessa Knecht posted a 73 in the second round to end the day at 4-over.

The Demon Deacons are looking to advance to the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive season. The NCAA Norman Regional concludes Wednesday at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club.
