Steyn Leads at Old Town After Two Rounds

Junior Marco Steyn is on top of the individual leaderboard after the first two rounds, while Wake Forest in second place as a team.
 
No. 8 Washington is the 36-hole leader at 23-under, five shots ahead of the top-ranked Demon Deacons at 18-under. No. 7 Louisville is third at 15-under while West Virginia is fourth at 13-under.

"We are going to need to play well tomorrow," said head coach Jerry Haas. "Last week at Duke we were six back going into the final round and came back to win, so I know this group is up to the challenge. Marco put together two more excellent rounds today and it is nice to see him at the top of the leaderboard."

Steyn has a one-shot lead after shooting rounds of 66 and 63 to finish the day at 11-under. Eric Bae is also in the top 10, T-8th at 5-under after rounds of 64 and 71.

Parker Gillam shot rounds of 67 and 70 to stand at 3-under, while Mark Power is 1-over and Alex Fitzpatrick is 4-over to round out the lineup.

Five Demon Deacons are playing the event as individuals, led by Eugenio Chacarra, who is in fourth place at 9-under after rounds of 64 and 67. Fulton Smith, making his collegiate debut, is 2-under after a pair of 69 rounds. Charlie Kennerly is 1-over, Kyle Sterbinsky is 2-over and Daniel Sheedy is 9-over.  

The final round is Tuesday at Old Town Club with play beginning at 7:30 a.m. Admission is free.
