The Matchup
• The sixth-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team returns home to host a doubleheader against Virginia and Davidson on Sunday, Feb. 9. The match-up against UVA is a non-conference meeting.
• Wake will take on the Cavaliers at 1 p.m., followed by the Davdson Wildcats at 4:30.
Last Time Out
• Wake Forest suffered its first loss of the season against 12th-ranked Baylor in its first road match of the year.
• Eduardo Nava and Melios Efstathiou picked up singles wins for the Deacons, but a strong start by the Bears gave Baylor an early advantage with the doubles point that the Deacs could not overcome.
Bresky Gets Win Number 200
• Coach Tony Bresky collected his 200th career-victory in the first match of the season over Coastal Carolina.
• His .767 overall winning percentage is the best of any Wake Forest men's tennis coach.
Scouting the Cavaliers
• Virginia makes the trip to Winston-Salem coming off a 4-1 victory over 11th-ranked TCU last week. The Cavs also have wins over Boston College, Memphis, Washington and Lee and Furman.
• Virginia fell to UCF 6-1 earlier in the season. Wake defeated the Knights 5-2 in January.
• Wake is 23-47 all-time against Virginia, but the Deacs won three of last year's four meetings, including a 4-2 victory in the NCAA Championships.
Scouting the Wildcats
• In-state foe Davidson enters the weekend with a 4-0 record after defeating Winthrop, Fordham, Sacred Heart and USC Upstate.
• Thomas Mason leads the Wildcats with a 4-0 mark on courts three and four, while Yash Parikh is 3-1 on the top court.
Meet the Deacs
• The Deacs return 11 players from last year's NCAA finals team and welcome seven newcomers to the squad.
• Freshmen Brant Fenno, Juan Lopez de Azcona, Jack Parry, Matt Thomson and transfer Robert Maciag joined the Deacs in the fall, while Taha Baadi and Henri Squire enrolled in January.
