Record Four Deacons Selected as WGCA All-Americans

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Wake Forest women's golf team had a school-record four players selected as WGCA All-Americans. This is the most for the Deacons since tying the 2011 record last year with three selections.
Junior Emilia Migliaccio and freshman Rachel Kuehn top the list as First Team members while senior Siyun Liu was selected to the second team and freshman Lauren Walsh was tabbed an Honorable Mention.
Migliaccio played in the lineup for all seven of events of the COVID-19 shortened season, finishing with a stroke average of 71.58. She finished inside the top 25 in every event and took home the individual title at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, just one week before the season was cancelled. She was also named to her third Arnold Palmer Cup team as a committee selection and became just the second American to be named to three AP Cup teams. She and Kuehn will both represent the US in the Arnold Palmer Cup, rescheduled for December.
Migliaccio and Kuehn are also both finalists for the ANNIKA Award, presented to the top female collegiate golfer. Kuehn was in the lineup for five of the seven events and led the team with a 71.23 stroke average. She finished inside the top 20 in all her appearances and took home her first collegiate title at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate.
Liu, the lone senior on the team, played in the lineup for every event and finished with a 71.95 stroke average. She finished inside the top 25 in three events and inside the top five in three events. Her best finish came at the Lady Paladin Invitational where she tied for second and Wake took home the team title. Walsh also appeared in the lineup for every event this season and finished with a stroke average of 72.37. She finished inside the top 25 six times with her best coming at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate where she tied for sixth.
About the Women's Golf Coaches Association
The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 650 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
