LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Wake Forest volleyball team has earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the 2019-20 season.
A record-breaking 232 teams received the award in 2020. Teams need to maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 or higher to be eligible for the award. This is the first time since 2015 that Wake Forest has earned the honor.
"Coaches have the most influence during difficult times," said AVCA Executive Director Kathy DeBoer. "Keeping student-athletes focused on their academic success when their volleyball identity was suddenly gone is leadership worth celebrating!"
