ITA Honors Wake Forest with Scholar Athlete and Team Academic Awards

Seven members of the Wake Forest men’s tennis program were named ITA Scholar Athletes while also earning academic recognition as a team.
TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association named seven members of the Wake Forest men's tennis team to the ITA Scholar-Athlete list, as announced on Monday.
Sid Banthia, Bar Botzer, Brant Fenno, Juan Lopez De Azcona, Robert Maciag, Ryan Mueller and Charlie Parry all earned a spot on the list. The Deacs also received recognition from the ITA as a team being named one of the 186 All-Academic Team selections.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
The Deacs held a perfect 9-0 record in home matches before the shutdown including a win in their lone ACC match of the season against Duke.
Sid Banthia, Bar Botzer, Brant Fenno, Juan Lopez De Azcona, Robert Maciag, Ryan Mueller and Charlie Parry all earned a spot on the list. The Deacs also received recognition from the ITA as a team being named one of the 186 All-Academic Team selections.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
- A grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
- Listed on the institutional eligibility form
- A team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
- All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
- All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
