The Matchup
• Wake Forest  travels to Duke on Sunday evening for a 5 p.m. kickoff on the ACC Network.

Last Time Out
• The Demon Deacons opened their ACC slate with a 4-1 loss at North Carolina on Thursday as the teams played through Hurricane Sally.
Sophie Faircloth scored the first goal of her collegiate career with an Olimpico, sending a corner kick untouched into the back of the net.

Quick Kicks
• Wake Forest and the ACC are set for a truncated fall season. The league will feature an eight-game conference schedule followed by the ACC Championship.
• The ACC is one of four conferences to play college soccer this fall, joined by the SEC, Big 12 and the Sun Belt.
• The NCAA is tentatively planning to hold the NCAA Soccer Championship in the spring. More details on that on page 2.
• Wake Forest's top returners include defender Hannah Betfort, a co-captain last season who led the squad with five assists; Ryanne Brown, who was tied for fourth on the team with nine points on three goals and three assists; and Giovanna DeMarco, who battled injuries last year but was an ACC All-Freshman Team pick in 2018.
•  Tony da Luz is in his 24th season at the helm of Wake Forest. His Deacs have reached the NCAA Tournament in 19 of his 23 years.

Scouting The Blue Devils
• Duke was picked to finish fourth in the ACC preseason poll vote by league head coaches. Additionally, Delaney Graham was one of 11 preseason All-ACC picks after being named second team All-ACC a season ago.
• Last year, Duke finished with a 9-4-7 overall record and went 7-0-4 at home. The Blue Devils have started this season with a 1-0-1 record after playing Virginia to a draw Thursday.

Series History
• Duke leads the all-time series over Wake Forest, 19-9-4.
• The teams played in a non-conference match to open the regular season. Wake Forest battled back from a 2-1 deficit to take a 3-2 lead, but Duke tied it in the 88th minute and won in overtime.
Carrie McIntire and Sofia Rossi each notched a goal and an assist to lead the Demon Deacons in that meeting.

Looking Ahead
• Wake Forest is off until Oct. 1 when Miami comes to Winston-Salem for a 7 p.m. game on ACCNX.
