Additionally, all fans must wear a mask indoors at all times, regardless of vaccination status. Wake Forest Athletics also requires all non-team personnel to be masked at all times inside the field enclosure.

LAST TIME OUT
Senior forward Shayla Smart earned a brace as Wake Forest toppled No. 17 Virginia Tech 4-3 on Sunday night at Spry Soccer Stadium.

With the win, the Deacs defeated the Hokies for the first time since 2014 and picked up the first ranked win at home since August 28, 2019 against No. 19 Santa Clara.

Tied 3-3, Smart's heroic tally came in the 63rd minute as the Apopka, Fla. native received a crossfield dish from Jenna Menta, making a defender miss and punching it in from inside the 18-yard box for her team leading ninth goal and fifth game-winner of the season.

FASTEST TO 12
This is the quickest any Wake Forest team has made it to 12 wins. The previous best start to a season was 2011 in which the Deacs managed 12 wins in 17 games.

SMART IS CLUTCH
With the game-winning goal against No. 17 Virginia Tech, senior Shayla Smart is tied for the most game-winning goals in the nation. She has recorded five game-winners.

EVERYONE IS DANGEROUS
Twelve different Deacs have scored at least one goal this season, and six of Deac's 12 goal scorers have scored two or more goals.

GOOD SIGNS
Wake Forest is 12-0 when scoring the first goal and 10-0 when outshooting their opponents. When the Deacs score two or more goals they are a perfect 10-0.

FINDING THE NET
Through 14 games, Wake Forest has scored 33 goals, surpassing the total number of goals scored by Wake Forest over 14 games during the 2020-21 season (16).

SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS
No. 8 Duke is 9-2-1 overall and fresh off a 5-0 win vs Pitt on Sunday. The Blue Devils were picked to finish fourth in the ACC as voted on by the league's coaches in the preseason poll.

The Blue Devils are led in scoring by Michelle Cooper, Tess Boade, Mackenzie Pluck and Marykate McGuire who have combined for 20 of Duke's 30 goals.
