
No. 16 Wake Forest Heads to Atlanta for Final Fall Event

The No. 16 Demon Deacons are set to play in their fourth and final event of their fall slate this weekend, traveling to Atlanta, Ga. for the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate.
ATLANTA, Ga. – The No. 16 Wake Forest men's golf team is set to start its final tournament of the fall season this week, traveling to Atlanta for the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate.
The 15-team field includes 10 of the nation's top 50 teams, according to the most recent rankings by Golfstat and the Golfweek/Sagarin Index.

The Demon Deacons will be in search of their second tournament victory as a team this season after winning the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational at the end of September. The last time out Wake Forest finished in a tie for third in the Colonial Collegiate while sophomore Michael Brennan continued to add to his personal trophy case.
For the second consecutive tournament, Brennan came home with medalist honors, winning the Colonial Collegiate Individual title by six strokes. It marked the fourth victory for the sophomore and was the second time in his career that he captured back-to-back tournaments.
He also claimed co-medalist honors at the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational along with Alex Fitzpatrick. Both Fitzpatrick and Brennan will be on the top of the lineup for the Demon Deacons this week in Alpharetta, Ga.
Tomorrow's first round is scheduled for a 9:20 a.m. ET start with the Demon Deacons teeing off hole No. 10. Wake Forest will play with UCLA and Tennessee.

Fitzpatrick also is the current No. 4 ranked player in the World Amateur Golf rankings and is No. 5 on the PGA Tour University rankings. He is looking for his third consecutive top-15 finish after a tied for 13th finish at the Colonial Collegiate. Fitzpatrick also tied for medalist honors with Brennan at the Old Town Club Collegiate.
Brennan joined a prestigious list of Wake Forest golfers with four individual tournament titles with his victory at the Colonial Collegiate Invitational. He cruised to a five-shot victory at 11-under-par. Brennan joined fellow Demon Deacons such as Bill Andrade, Lee Bedford, Michael Brennan, Bob Byman, Billy Chapman and Will Zalatoris who all ended their careers with four titles each.
Power reenters the lineup after being in the Wake Forest starting five for the first two tournaments of the season. He helped the team to a title at the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational, tying for 35th on the individual leaderboard. He was helped by a 66 (-4) in the second round of the tournament.
Meisel, a freshman from Chevy Chase, Md., plays in his second tournament inside of the Wake Forest starting five. He got off to a strong start in Fort Worth at the Colonial Collegiate with an opening round 66 (-4).
Rogillio enters the lineup for the first time this season in the No. 5 position. The sophomore is coming off a top-20 finish at the Old Town Club Collegiate. He finished 3-under for the tournament and tied for 19th on the individual leaderboard.

The Golf Club of Georgia, located in Alpharetta, has hosted PGA Champions Tour events, the historic Georgia Cup which annually pits the reigning amateur champions from the United States and Great Britain prior to their participation at The Masters, and the yearly Collegiate Championship showcasing some of the finest highly-ranked teams from across the country.
