Wake Forest produced a pair of goals in each half to secure their seventh win of the season.
RICHMOND, Va. - The No. 17 Wake Forest field hockey team earned a 4-1 victory versus Richmond on Sunday afternoon in their final road game of the 2021 season.
Wake Forest (7-8, 1-4 ACC) offense started out fast, jumping out to a 2-0 lead after first half goals from Eleanor Winants (seven minute-mark) and Maggie Dickman (16-minute mark).
After Richmond (5-11, 4-2 A-10) opened up the second half with their first goal on their first shot attempt of the match, the Deacs rattled off two more unanswered goals from Dickman and Brooke McCusker to secure the 4-1 victory in their final non-conference match of 2021.
Dickman's two goals set a new career high for the junior from Louisville, Ky. This season, Dickman has netted six goals, which is also a good career best and good for third on the Demon Deacons.
Ball movement was key to Wake Forest's offensive success as Ashley Hart, Brooke McCusker and Grace Delmotte all dished out assists on the Demon Deacons' first three goals.

Sophomore goalie Tori Glaister started in her 20th-consecutive game in goal for the Deacs, facing just one shot on goal. Sloan Isen made her second appearance at goalkeeper for Wake Forest as the junior replaced Glaister just before the 56-minute mark.
