AP Poll & Coaches Poll Rankings
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Wake Forest football team is ranked in both the Associated Press and Amway Coaches Poll this week for the fifth-straight time.
The Demon Deacons check in at No. 13 this week. Wake Forest's highest ranking as a program in the AP poll is 11th that came on Oct. 20, 1947. This is the first time that Wake Forest has been ranked higher than 14th since that aforementioned date.
Wake Forest has now started its season 7-0 for the second time in program history (1944). The Deacons seven-game win streak is tied for the program's longest in school history with the other coming in 1944.
With yesterday's win, Dave Clawson is now 47-45 in his eight-year tenure with the Demon Deacons. He is one just five head coaches in program history to have a winning record in his coaching career at Wake Forest.
With three-straight wins as a ranked team with the No. 24 Demon Deacons downing Louisville on Oct. 2, No. 19-ranked Deacs beating Syracuse on Oct. 9 and No. 16 Wake Forest winning Saturday at Army, Wake Forest has won three-straight games as a ranked team for the first time since 2008.
Wake Forest has scored 302 combined points this season, which is on pace to break the single season record from 2017 when Wake Forest tallied 459 points. Wake Forest is currently averaging 43.1 points per game, which would be another school-record setting season.
