Deacs Move Up Leaderboard After Day Two of Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's golf team moved up two spots on the leaderboard after the second round of the Landfall Tradition.
The Deacs were led again by freshman Carolina Chacarra, who birdied two of her first four holes to enter the run at one under par. A birdie on 10 got her to two under for round. She recorded eight straight pars to finish the day with a two-under 70. She is currently T11 with a 36-hole score of 143.
Virunpat Olankitkunchai also shot two under par for the second round. With back-to-back birdies on the second and third hole and weather one the sixth, she made the turn at two under. Out of the turn, a birdie on 12 got her back to two under after a bogey on 10. She recorded a fourth birdie on 18 to keep her two-under 70 for the day and improved to an even-par score after 36 holes.
Rachel Kuehn improved from her first-round score to finish even par for the second round and remain two-over for the event. Birdies on two of her first four holes and two of her final six helped her maintain her top-25 position. She sits T25 heading into tomorrow's final round. Mimi Rhodes and Vanessa Knecht each finished the second round three over par. Playing as an individual, Lauren Walsh finished her second round at six over par.
The final round will be a shotgun start at 8:45 Sunday morning. Wake Forest will be paired with Virginia Tech and UCF, going off holes four, five and six.
