Deacs Set to Take on Western Carolina

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's basketball team will continue their five-game homestand on Friday against Western Carolina in the second all-time meeting between the two North Carolina programs.
The Demon Deacons (1-0, 0-0) are coming off a dominant 77-59 performance against William & Mary on Wednesday in which the team shot over 50 percent from the field and never trailed while holding their opponent to just 38.6 percent shooting.
Alondes Williams led the team in scoring with a career-high 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field. Jake LaRavia pitched in 13 points while Daivien Williamson and Cameron Hildreth tallied 10 points each. Hildreth also finished with five rebounds, four assists, and two blocks.
The Catamounts (1-0, 0-0) are coming off a 79-71 overtime victory against Bowling Green State and are coached by former Wake Forest All-ACC guard Justin Gray. Gray's squad connected on twelve 3-pointers and hauled in fifty rebounds in the victory.
Tipoff in Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and the game will stream live on ACC Network Extra.

Jake LaRavia and Dallas Walton combined for five blocks and five steals on Wednesday night. LaRavia's four steals and Walton's four blocks both tie their career highs.
Additionally, LaRavia's tally of five steals are the most in a Demon Deacon debut since Jeff Teague had five in his debut in 2007, while Walton's tally of blocks are the most in any Demon Deacon debut during the 21st century,
The team's total eight blocks are Wake Forest's most in regulation since the 2016-17 season, when the Deacs swatted nine shots at home against North Carolina on January 11.
