FROM HOOVER
"It was a tough game day, but we are in the midst of a tough stretch. We played three games in the first week of the season and we started on the road against a conference champion from a year ago (Mercer), it was a challenging week for us. We are playing a lot of student-athletes who have not played in the past as we are a young team. I am really proud of our grit. I told our team that when our backs were up against the wall, we did what we had to do to earn the victory. That is the sign of a special team as we showed some great determination and effort today that will help us as we move forward."
