Demon Deacons Return to Action Against Louisville

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's basketball team will face Louisville on Wednesday evening as the team kicks off a two-game road trip following its return from Christmas break.
 
The Demon Deacons (11-1, 1-0) are currently riding a five-game win streak, including a thrilling 82-79 victory over Charlotte in the team's previous game. Isaiah Mucius drained the game-winning three-pointer as time expired to secure the victory.
 
Alondes Williams currently co-leads the ACC in scoring with Georgia Tech guard Michael Devoe at 21.0 points per game after posting back-to-back 30-point outings against VMI (36 pts) and Charlotte (34 pts). In total, the Milwaukee native is averaging 28.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 6.7 assists over his last three games on 57.4 percent shooting.
 
Williams is currently the only player in the country with three 30-point games this season and is also the only player in the country with at least 250 points, 75 rebounds, and 50 assists on the season.
 
Wake Forest currently ranks 24th in the country in field goal percentage (0.488) and 26th in the country in points per game (81.2). Both marks are second-best in the ACC.
 
The Cardinals (7-4, 1-0) are coming off a pause due to COVID-19 protocol, and last played Western Kentucky, an 82-72 loss on December 18. Louisville is led by fourth-year coach Chris Mack.
 
Tipoff inside KFC Yum! Center is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET and the game will air live on ACC Network.
