
Second Nine Elevates Deacs in Opening Round of Gamecock Intercollegiate

Two Wake Forest women’s golfers sit inside the top 20.
Blythewood, S.C. - The Wake Forest women's golf team jumped seven spots on the leaderboard after recording nine birdies during the second half of the day.
Sophomore Rachel Kuehn birdied her final four holes of the day to help lift the Deacs, along with senior Emilia Migliaccio's bogey-free second nine. Migliaccio and Kuehn currently sit T7and T16, respectively. Both players head into the second round challenging for the individual title with Migliaccio just one shot off the lead while Kuehn stands just two shot from first place.
Freshman Mimi Rhodes had a solid round for the Deacs, finishing just one over and shooting even par on the second nine. She sits in a tie for 28th heading into the second round.
Tuesday's second round will tee off at 9:00am ET. The Demon Deacons will be paired with Ole Miss and Vanderbilt in the shotgun start with players teeing off their second round between holes No. 7 to No. 9, respectively. The third round and final is scheduled to begin with another shotgun start at approximately 2:30 p.m.
