STILLWATER, Okla. -- Wake Forest's nationally ranked men's cross country team is set to compete at Monday's NCAA Cross Country Championship for the first time since 2001. The Demon Deacons men's team enter the meet ranked No. 2 in the southeast region and No. 21 in the national coaches' poll

Monday's individual and team championships will air on ESPNU with coverage beginning at 12:30 p.m. Oklahoma State University will play host at the OSU Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

When Wake Forest last competed at the national meet 20 years ago, the Demon Deacons placed 19th overall.

The men's program has been training all spring following a third-place finish at the 2020 ACC Championships. That was the first time since 2001 that the Demon Deacons entered the national rankings and it was their best finish at the conference meet since 2001.

At that meet, four Wake Forest student-athletes earned All-ACC honors with top-20 finishes, led by Carter Coughlin crossing in fifth.

The Deacons have traveled the following eight student-athletes to Stillwater with seven competing and one being an alternate.
