Wake Forest secured a back-and-forth 4-3 road win against the Bulldogs.
ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 13 Wake Forest men's tennis team fought back-and-forth with the 17th-ranked Georgia Bulldogs Friday at the Magill Tennis Complex, but ultimately came out on top 4-3.
After Georgia jumped out to a 3-2 lead by claiming wins on courts four, two and six. The Demon Deacons tie things up at 3-3 with a win on court five with one court left to play.
Redshirt-senior Eduardo Nava on court three was the lone Deac left in action and clinched the match for Wake Forest with his 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 tight win over Philip Henning.
Quotable
"We had an awful start in doubles, I think we got broken on all three courts to start off," head coach Tony Bresky said. " But I'm proud of the guys at No. 2 and 3 doubles for working through it and battling back. Henri (Squire) played a professional match on court one, he has set high goals for himself and looks to achieve them. Georgia fought back but our guys didn't budge."
