Wake Forest Sweeps Golfers of the Month

Winston-Salem, N.C. - Wake Forest men's golfer Michael Brennan and women's golfer Rachel Kuehn have earned ACC Golfer of the Month honors for February, the league announced Tuesday.
Brennan, a freshman from Leesburg, Virginia, won his first collegiate tournament Feb. 16 at the Kiawah Invitational in South Carolina, after finishing T5 in his collegiate debut and finished T2 in the Deacs' second tournament. Brennan shot an impressive 16-under par and won by five strokes at Kiawah. He led the field in total birdies, making 19 over three rounds with scores of 67, 68 and 65. He leads the team with a stroke average of 69.00 and has shot seven of his nine collegiate rounds at even or under par.
Wake Forest won the 14-team event, which included five ranked teams. The Demon Deacons are currently No. 2 in the Golftstat rankings.
A native of Asheville, North Carolina, Kuehn won the Palmetto Intercollegiate and tied for third at the UCF Challenge in the Deacons' two tournaments this month. At the UCF Challenge, she posted a 2-under par total of 214, which included a career-low 66 in the opening round as Wake Forest finished one stroke behind Virginia. Two weeks later, she fired a 69 in the final round to earn individual honors and lead the Demon Deacons to the team title ahead of the second-place Cavaliers.
Kuehn is second on the team with a stroke average of 71.67. Wake Forest is ranked fifth in the country in the most recent Golfstat rankings.
