Wake Forest Headed to Syracuse for Final Road Matchups

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- Wake Forest Volleyball is on the road this weekend for the final away matches of the spring season.
First, Wake Forest will face host Syracuse Orange (5-7) on Friday, March 26 inside the Women's Building with a match time set for 4:00 p.m. On Saturday, March 27 the Demon Deacons will go up against in-state rival Duke Blue Devils (9-9, 7-6, ACC) with the first serve set for 2:30 p.m. inside the Women's Building.
Wake Forest is looking to end their road spring season with a pair of wins. Following this weekend, Wake Forest will have its final home matches of the season against Boston College on April 1 and 2 at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Friday's match against Syracuse will stream live on ACC Network Extra.

Players to Watch
Ashley Slater | Freshman OH
Last weekend, Slater was an offensive force on the net. The freshman led the Demon Deacons in kills with a two-game total of 27. She also showed off her defensive skills with a combined total of 13 digs for the weekend and three blocks against Notre Dame. Slater has been a continuous standout for the Demon Deacons after switching from the right side to the outside this spring.
Paige Sebesta | Senior DS
The Senior from Cypress, Texas showed her leadership last weekend. Sebesta had 23 digs over the two weekend matches and also chipped in four assists. She looks to continue that leadership as she heads into her final road matches as a Demon Deacon.
Zoe Gonzales | Sophomore MB
Gonzales had 14 kills over the weekend, including a career-high 10 against North Carolina. The sophomore finished the weekend with an impressive .714 attacking percentage against UNC and .500 against Notre Dame. She also had four blocks and two aces. Gonzales has become a go-to on the net for the Demon Deacons this spring.

Duke Series
- Duke leads the longtime rivalry 55-15. The Deacs' last win against the Blue Devils was on Nov 8, 2017 where Wake Forest won 3-0 in Winston-Salem.
