Deacons Post Solid Performances on Day 2 of Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Wake Forest continued competition on day two of the Raleigh Relays at NC State with multiple solid marks and times. The Deacs were led by freshman Thomas Kitchell and junior Andrew White on Friday as they recorded the third (54.74 meters) and fourth (53.79m) top discus marks in program history.

On the women's side, graduate Cassie Martin notched the top finish for the Deacs with her second place leap of 1.70m in the women's high jump. Additionally in that event, Wake Forest had three others compete including Anna Bush (1.65m), Meghan O'Malley (1.65m) and Addison Berry (1.60m)

On the track., the Demon Deacons were paced by senior Cydney Delley in the 400m dash with a time of 56.22 seconds. In the distance events, Wake Forest had a quartet of women's runners compete in the 5,000m run and were led by sophomore Caroline Garrett and redshirt junior Spencer Faircloth as they crossed the finish line in times of 17:20.75 and 17:28.30, respectively.

Overall for the day, Wake Forest had 16 student-athletes compete and 10 record top-20 finishes. All results are listed below.
