
Wake Forest Set to Host No. 12 Virginia

The No. 30 Wake Forest women’s tennis team plays host to the No. 12 Cavaliers on Friday afternoon at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 30 Wake Forest women's tennis team starts its final home weekend of the season on Friday afternoon against No. 12 Virginia.
The first serve is set for 4 p.m. ET against the Cavaliers (12-4, 8-3 ACC) at the Wake Forest Tennis Center. Redshirt senior Rosie Johanson comes into the match riding a 10-match winning streak in singles play. She has played out of the No. 3 spot for Virginia for a majority of the season.
A win for the Demon Deacons (9-8, 5-5 ACC) on Friday would mark the Deacs third consecutive win in the series and the sixth in the last seven matches dating back to the 2015 season.
The last time the Demon Deacons squared off with the Cavaliers, Wake Forest came out on top, winning, 5-2, with singles victories from Eliza Omirou and Anna Brylin helping the Deacs to the win.

LAST TIME
Despite being without two of their three ranked singles players, the No. 26 Demon Deacons battled the No. 40 Monarchs closely before falling, 4-1.
- In her first match in the No. 4 spot this season, Casie Wooten grabbed a 6-3, 6-3 straight-set win, marking the fourth in the last five singles matches for the freshman from Torrance, Calif.
NEXT UP
The Deacs close out their regular season home slate on Sunday against Virginia Tech. It will also be Senior Day as the Demon Deacons honor senior Eliza Omirou.
The first serve for Saturday is set for 11 a.m.
