Wake Forest Maintains Top Eight Position After Day Two

The Demon Deacons must maintain field position inside the top fifteen tomorrow to advance.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The Wake Forest women's golf team was able to maintain their position among the top eight teams on the leaderboard after the second day of NCAA Championship play.
Senior Emilia Migliaccio led the charge for the Demon Deacons on the second day, shooting even par and improving her position on the leaderboard by five spots. After three bogeys and two birdies on her first nine, she recovered with two birdies on two and five. She sat at one-under entering the final hole. After getting on the par-four ninth green in two, three putts had her finish even for the round, improving her overall score by two strokes.
After recording scores of just one stroke difference on the first day, senior Siyun Liu (72) and freshman Mimi Rhodes (73) continued the trend into the second day. They shot 75 and 74, respectively, and now are alongside one another on the leaderboard, sitting T34.
Rhodes entered the turn at two over par and was able to maintain her position by staying even on her second nine holes of the day. Liu had a more turbulent than usual first nine holes of the day but was also able to maintain her position by staying even through the second nine.
Tee times for the third round will begin at 10:15 a.m. ET on Sunday. Wake Forest will be paired with Florida State and Oklahoma State.
