Nava Advances to NCAA Singles Second Round

ORLANDO, Fla. – Senior No. 40 Eduardo Nava rolled through the opening round of the NCAA Singles Championship with a straight-set victory over No. 11 Matias Soto of Baylor on Sunday night at the USTA National Campus.
While Nava advanced, freshman standout, Henri Squire saw his spectacular ACC Freshman of the Year season with the Demon Deacons come to a close following a 6-4, 6-2 defeat to Mississippi State's Florian Broska.
Nava steamrolled past Baylor's Soto, 6-4, 6-3. Nava used late breaks in both sets to send the nations 11th-ranked player home.

Nava will compete for a chance to be named All-American in their second round matchups at 2 p.m. while Nava and Squire will open their doubles account against the No. 1 duo in the country Ole Miss' Tim Sandkaulen and Finn Reynolds at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
