Siyun Liu and Emilia Migliaccio became the seventh and eighth Demon Deacons to earn three or more ACC All-Academic honors.
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Wake Forest women's golf, who is coming off a top-15 finish at the NCAA Championships in May, had four players named to the ACC All-Academic team, as announced by the league office on Thursday.
Seniors Siyun Liu and Emilia Migliaccio both were placed on the team for the third time in their careers while Rachel Kuehn and Lauren Walsh each earned their first honors of the season.
Kuehn earned WGCA All-America First Team honors after her standout freshman season. This year, she led the team with a 72.27 stroke average and was the only Deac to win an individual title, doing so at the Palmetto Intercollegiate in February. She also had five top-25 finishes in six events and earned medalist honors at the ACC Championship in April, finishing in third on the individual leaderboard.
Walsh earned WGCA All-America Honorable Mention honors after her freshman season with the Deacs. This year, she finished second on the team with a 72.41 stroke average and recorded a top-15 finish in six of seven events this spring. She started the season with a bang, recording back-to-back second place finishes at the UCF Challenge and Palmetto Intercollegiate.
Migliaccio was the only American, male or female, in the history of the event to be selected to four Arnold Palmer Cup teams. During her senior campaign, Migliaccio finished runner-up in a playoff at the second Augusta National Women's Amateur in April. She has played in the lineup for all seven events this spring with a 73.18 stroke average. She's had four top-25 finishes in five stroke play events and contributed match wins in the team victory at the Big Four Challenge.
Liu played some of her best golf of the season down the stretch including a top-five finish at the ACC Championships at 2-under-par for the tournament. She was a mainstay in head coach Kim Lewellen's lineup all season long, starting in all 22 rounds for the Demon Deacons this season. Liu finished third on the team in stroke average with a mark of 72.73, less than a half stroke off the team lead.
