Carolyn Campana Earns ITA All-America Honors

Campana became the first Wake Forest singles All-American since 2002.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest women's tennis sophomore Carolyn Campana received ITA All-America recognition, as announced by the organization on Monday.
Campana became the first Wake Forest singles All-American since 2002 and is the seventh player in program history to earnITA Singles All-America honors.
Earlier this spring, Campana earned First Team All-ACC honors, becoming the first Deac player since 2018 to be placed on the top team.
It was Wake Forest's 61st overall All-ACC honor, ranking fourth in conference history. The Demon Deacons have had at least one All-ACC selection in 32 of the 33 seasons, dating back to the inception of the All-ACC teams in 1987.
Top Line Player
Since the start of the 2020 spring season, Campana has been the Demon Deacons No. 1 in lineup while also making her name known around the conference and country. The Hillsborough, Calif. native has risen to as high as No. 12 in the ITA Rankings, the highest Demon Deacon since Karin Coetzee was ranked No. 10 during the 2003-04 season.
This season Campana has compiled a 9-6 singles mark, capturing ranked victories over No. 13 Kenya Jones of Georgia Tech and No. 42 Kelly Chen of Duke.
Her doubles team along with Eliza Omirou has played in the No. 1 spot all season and holds a record of 9-4 and has ranked as high as No. 25 in the nation. While in the top spot this season, the duo has claimed a pair of ranked victories.
