Three Demon Deacons Named GCAA All-America Scholars

Graduate student Eric Bae received the honor for his third time while senior Parker Gillam and sophomore Fulton Smith were first time recipients.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Three Wake Forest men's golfers have been named All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
The Srixon/Cleveland Golf All American Scholars award is given out to collegiate Division I golfers that have maintained a 3.2 grade point average and have a stroke average of 76.0 or lower.
Graduate student Eric Bae received the honor for his third time. Senior Parker Gillam and sophomore Fulton Smith were first time recipients.
Returning for his final year of eligibility, Bae helped the Demon Deacons to another successful season on the course. His stroke average of 72.16 in 25 rounds ranked fourth best in the Wake Forest team. Bae also managed a second place finish at the Kiawah Invitational and four other top 20 finishes.
Gillam, a PING All-America Honorable Mention, had another stellar season with the Deacs. Gillam ranked third in the Wake Forest team with a stroke average of 72.10 over the course of 31 rounds. The senior finished in 13th place at the NCAA Championship, firing a season-low 64 in the third round.
In his second year as a Demon Deacon, Smith recorded a stroke average of 74.20 in his 15 rounds for Wake Forest. His best finish was tied for 15th finish at the Wake Forest Invite at Pinehurst No. 2.
