Demon Deacons Hit the Road for Matchup with Cavaliers

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - After going 2-1 in its first three ACC home games, the Wake Forest men's basketball team will hit the road for a matchup with Virginia on Saturday afternoon in Charlottesville.
Going into Saturday's action, Alondes Williams has scored 25 points in two consecutive games on a combined 20-of-36 shooting. The Milwaukee native remains the only player in the country currently averaging at least 20 points (20.7), five rebounds (6.8), and five assists (5.0).
Jake LaRavia has scored in double-figures in five-straight games and is averaging 16.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists on 55.3 percent shooting during the streak.
Wake Forest currently ranks 39th in the country in field goal percentage (47.7) and 36th in the country in points per game (79.1). Those marks represent the third and second-best marks in the ACC, respectively. On defense, the Deacs have held their first six ACC opponents to a combined 41.5 percent from the field, a mark that ranks second in the ACC so far in conference play.
The Cavaliers (10-6, 4-2) sit one game ahead of the Deacs at fifth in the ACC standings and are coming off a narrow 54-52 home victory over Virginia Tech on Wednesday night. Tony Bennett's squad boasts the 11th-best scoring defense in the country, as the Cavaliers have allowed just 58.4 points per game this season.
Tipoff inside John Paul Jones Arena is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET and the game will air live on Bally Sports South and other regional sports networks.
