
Wake Forest Looks to Bounce Back at Pitt

The Demon Deacons are 3-1 all-time on the road at Pittsburgh with the last victory coming in 2018.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest women's basketball team travels north to Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers for a Sunday matinee tipoff.
The Demon Deacons (12-5, 2-4 ACC) will be looking to improve to 4-1 all-time on the road at Pittsburgh with wins coming in 2018, 2016 and 2014. In the victory in last season's matchup, the Deacs owned the glass, pulling down 48 in the game including a then career-high 11 rebounds from junior Olivia Summiel. The Deacs have won five of the last seven games in the series.
The Panthers (9-7, 0-5 ACC) will be looking for their first win in conference play on Sunday and be looking to snap a three-game skid overall that dates back to Dec. 22. Pitt is led by guard Jayla Everett who averages 13.7 points per game. She is the only player in double figures for the Panthers.
Tipoff for Sunday night's game against the Panthers is scheduled for 2 p.m. (ET) at LJVM Coliseum. The game can also be seen on ACC Network Extra.

HOLDING DOWN OPPONENTS
The Demon Deacons have held all but six opponents to under 40 percent shooting from the field and all but three under 35 percent shooting from behind the arc.
The Deacs rank nationally in multiple defensive categories including No. 23 in three-point field goal defense, allowing opponents to shoot just 25.4 percent from range. This also ranks second among all ACC schools through this point in the season.
Additionally, the Deacs scoring defense is currently 71st in the country, allowing just 58.2 points per game as just 10 of the 17 Demon Deacon opponents have scored more than 50 points this season.

In the loss to the Fighting Irish (12-3, 3-1 ACC), Wake Forest was led by another double-figure scoring output from sophomore guard Jewel Spear, who came into the contest as the conference leader with 19.8 points per game.

Additionally, The Colony, Texas native crossed over the 600-point barrier on Thursday night, accomplishing the feat in just 42 career games for the Demon Deacons.

For the third consecutive game, Ivana Raca posted a double-double, posting 14 points and 11 rebounds. It was the 16th of her career moving her into a tie for sixth in Wake Forest history in that category.

Sophomore forward Olivia Summiel tied Raca on the glass, pulling in a career-high tying 11 rebounds including six rebounds on the offensive end. The Deacs' 48 total rebounds marked a season-high.
