The No. 14 Demon Deacons are one of six ranked teams set to compete for the first title of spring on Golf Channel.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.  – The No. 14 Wake Forest men's golf team is set to start its spring schedule of tournaments at the Southwestern Invitational on Monday.

The 12-team field includes six of the nation's top 25 teams, according to the most recent rankings by Golfstat rankings. In addition to going into the spring ranked No. 14 in the Golfstat Rankings, the Deacs also are No. 10 in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin rankings.

All three days, Golf Channel will air College Central from 4:00-4:30 p.m. ET, followed by live coverage of the Southwestern from 4:30-7:30 p.m. ET.

The Demon Deacons will be in search of their second tournament victory as a team this season after winning the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational at the end of September.

Michael Brennan also took home his fair share of hardware during the fall season, taking home a pair of individual titles.

Most recently, Brennan came home with medalist honors at the Colonial Collegiate, winning the individual title by six strokes. It marked the fourth victory for the sophomore and was the second time in his career that he captured back-to-back tournaments.

He also claimed co-medalist honors at the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational along with Alex Fitzpatrick. Both Fitzpatrick and Brennan will be on the top of the lineup for the Demon Deacons this week in Alpharetta, Ga.

Tomorrow's first round is scheduled for a 1:20 p.m. ET start with the Demon Deacons teeing off hole No. 1. Wake Forest will play with host Pepperdine, Georgia and USC.

He is looking for his third top-15 finish after a tie for 13th finish at the Colonial Collegiate. Fitzpatrick also tied for medalist honors with Brennan at the Old Town Club Collegiate.

Mark Power

Power reenters the lineup after being in the Wake Forest starting five for the first two tournaments of the season. He helped the team to a title at the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational, tying for 35th on the individual leaderboard. He was helped by a 66 (-4) in the second round of the tournament.

Parker Gillam

Gillam was the Demon Deacons top finisher at the NCAA Championships as he tied for 13th on the individual leaderboard. The performance helped him earn PING All-America Honorable Mention honors. He finished tied for 26th at the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational. Gillam is also coming off a December victory at the Orlando International Amateur, winning in a playoff.

Kennon had an impressive showing at the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational. He was par or below in all three rounds of the tournament, finishing the week tied for ninth and nine-under par, his highest finish to date and first career top-10 finish.

COURSE INFORMATION

Southwestern Invitational

North Ranch C.C. - Lakes/Oaks  – Westlake Village, Calif. – Par 72 – 6,992 yards

Lakes Course

Built in 1988, the Lakes, at 3,542 yards, is the longest of our three nines. Formerly known as the "Conway" nine, the fairways are more wide open than the others, with the greens having more subtle breaks than on the Valley or Oaks. The Lakes has one of Southern California's 18 toughest holes. The 234 yard, par 3, all carry over water, was voted one of SoCal's 18 toughest by Southland Golf Magazine.

Oaks Course

The Oaks is considered by many members to be our most difficult nine. At 3,400 yards, it is not long by modern standards, but not often does one find so much trouble on both sides of the fairway off the tee! Rarely can you find a level lie to hit from, increasing the difficulty when approaching the greens. Accuracy is a must to score well on the Oaks.
