Men’s DMR Wins Gold on Day 1 of Bob Pollock Invite

CLEMSON, SC – Newcomer Emma Söderström broke the all-time Lady Demon Deacon record in the pentathlon high jump Friday evening, finishing in 1.82m at Clemson's Bob Pollock Meet.
Söderström's performance currently ranks tied for 10th in the NCAA and first in the ACC. Söderström finished the pentathlon with a personal best with 3971 points, placing on the podium in the high jump and 800m
She broke the previous school record of 1.81 set by Demon Deacon hall of famer Trina Bindel in 1995.
MEN'S DMR WINS GOLD
In the men's distance relay medley, Kenton Bachmann, Rynard Swanepoel, Brent Bailey and Archie Wallis took home the event title thanks to a 9:53.42 time, which ranks 8th all-time in program history and 18th in the NCAA.
On the women's side, Laura Giudice, Aleeya Hutchins, Hana Catsimanes and Mackenna Curtis-Collins finished second overall and ranks 18th overall in the NCAA.
PIHLKAR THIRD IN WEIGHT
Senior Jack Pihlkar finished the weight throw with a podium place, placing third with a toss of 19.78m (64-10.75). Additionally, Thomas Kitchell and Mason Ellis placed inside the top-10.
