WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The No. 3 Wake Forest women's golf team is traveling to Athens, Georgia this week for the Liz Murphy Collegiate, hosted by Georgia.
Almost every team in the field is ranked inside the top 50, with six teams inside the top 25. Wake Forest is the highest ranked team in the field at third in the nation according to the latest Golfstat rankings. The Deacs are the highest-ranked ACC team in the country and are joined in Athens by one other ACC team in Louisville (30).
The Deacs have finished inside the top four in every event this season, with four wins, one second place, one third place and one fourth place finish and are coming off a second-place finish behind No. 2 Oregon at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge last week.
Junior Rachel Kuehn earned her fourth collegiate win, taking home the individual title from the event. Kuehn's four career wins rank fourth-most all-time in the Wake Forest women's golf program. Her tournament score of 10 under par at 203 ties her career-low and is the fourth-lowest 54-hole score in program history. The win also earned her an LPGA exemption into the JTBC Championship at Palos Verdes next month.
Wake Forest led the field on par-three scoring for the event and averaged the second-lowest score on par-four holes. The Deacs' 175 pars and 41 birdies were good for third-best in the field and their two eagles tied for the best. Kuehn led all players in scoring on par-three and par-five holes and recorded the most birdies in the field with 16 over her 54 holes.
Carolina Chacarra jumped another eight spots on the board during the final round to finish T12 at four over. Virunpat Olankitkunchai had her best day on the last day, jumping 20 spots on the board with her third-round score of a one-under 70. After a birdie and two bogeys on the front, an eagle on the par-five 16th brought her to one under for the day and five over for the tournament.
Lauren Walsh also had her best day on the last two days, recording back-to-back 72s to jump the board seven spots and finish next to Olankitkunchai at T18. Mimi Rhodes finished T30 and Vanessa Knecht, playing as an individual, finished T54.

Renovated by Love Golf Design in 2006, the course is up to the standards of modern championship play and is home to both the University's top-ranked golf teams and maintains their practice grounds and clubhouse. While extremely challenging from the championship Bulldog Tees, the course has six sets of tees to help golfers of all abilities enjoy their round on this classic layout.
