No. 11 Virginia Snaps No. 8 Wake Forest’s Win Streak

The Deacs drop their first ACC match of the season to No. 11 Virginia, 4-1.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – The No. 8 Wake Forest men's tennis team dropped its first ACC match with a 4-1 loss to No. 11 Virginia at Virginia Tennis Facility at the Boar's Head Resort.
Virginia (14-5, 8-0 ACC) opened the day by securing the doubles point against the Demon Deacons (22-5, 5-1 ACC) and after the Deacs picked up one singles win, they went on to win three-straight singles matches.
Wake Forest stays on the road as they head to Notre Dame on April 1st with a matchup with the Fighting Irish.

How It Happened
Virginia collected wins on courts one and three of doubles as they clinched with to earn the 1-0 lead.
Down 1-0, the Deacs came out quickly and tied it up. Graduate Jakob Schnaitter cruised out with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Gianni Ross.
Virginia went on and picked up three straight-set victories on courts one, two and four to confirm the Cavalier win.
Melios Efstathiou and Siddhant Banthia were left unfinished.
