Wake Forest Completes Day One at Vertklasse Meeting

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- The Wake Forest track & field programs completed day one of the Vertklasse Meeting with nine podium finishes, two personal bests and two season bests.
HAMMER SWEEP
In the men's elite hammer section, the Deacs went first, second and third as Andrew White (60.12m), Thomas Kitchell (59.53) and Jack Pihlkar (59.41m) in order. Kitchell improved his personal best to 59.53 and moved to No. 5 on the Wake Forest top-10.
WOMEN'S SHOT PUT
The elite section of the women's shot put played fair to the Demon Deacons as Ashlyn Giles (14.38m) and Chanel Dawson (14.26m) collected second and third place finishes.
In the other section, Janese Lynch captured the first place mark with a toss of 14.48m, earning a season best.
