Vanoppen Named ACC Outdoor Track Performer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior Thomas Vanoppen was recognized as the ACC Outdoor Track Performer of the Week with his record breaking 1,500m event at the Duke Invite.
Vanoppen currently has the collegiate lead in the 1,500m event after he laid down a winning time of 3:38.34 at the Duke Invite. He broke his current teammate Zach Facioni's time he set last year of 3:39.87. Not including the school record, his time broke the meet record and facility record.
This is his first ACC weekly honor of Vanoppen's career.
Wake Forest will continue outdoor action this weekend, splitting groups to Mt. Sac Relays in Torrance, Calif. and Bryan Clay Invite in Azusa, Calif. (Apr. 14-16)
